Tiger Woods tortures golf fans with cruel April Fools' joke

Tiger Woods has never really been known for his sense of humor, but the 15-time major champion unleashed a cruel joke on Tuesday.

Fans could not believe their eyes when Woods shared a post on social media that said he has been cleared to play in the Masters next week. Woods recently suffered a torn Achilles while working his way back from his latest back procedure, but the 49-year-old claimed he has been “sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber” and made a miraculous recovery.

“I can’t believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, the sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts my doctors and trainers have me ready to play the Masters next week! Can’t wait! See y’all on the course,” Woods wrote on X.

The news sounded too good to be true, and that’s because it was. Fans who fell for the prank must not have realized that Tuesday was April 1, also known as April Fools’ Day.

Tiger sent a follow-up message a few minutes later admitting that his Achilles “is still a mess.”

Woods may be the closest thing to superhuman that we have ever seen in the sports world, but no one comes back from a torn Achilles that quickly. It would be a big achievement for Tiger to play in the 2026 Masters, let alone this year.

Unfortunately for golf fans, Tiger will not be part of the field at Augusta National. He is more focused on his recovery and his new relationship at this point.
