Mason Jones made history on Thursday night with one of the most dominant playoff performances in G League history.
The Stockton Kings guard erupted for 47 points and nine rebounds in a 122-114 victory over the Valley Suns in the Western Conference Semifinals, recording the third-highest individual scoring game in G League postseason history.
From the opening tip, Jones was aggressive, using a combination of physical drives and a smooth shooting touch. He finished 17-of-29 from the field, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, and drained all five of his free-throw attempts. The all-around performance showcased the full arsenal that has made him one of the G League’s top scorers in recent years.

Despite an exceptional triple-double from Suns guard TyTy Washington Jr., who tallied 39 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds, it wasn’t enough to prevent his team from being eliminated by Jones and the Kings.
The 26-year-old Jones has been a standout throughout the G League season, averaging 23.6 points and 7.9 assists through the Tip-Off Tournament and regular season, while shooting an impressive 44.7% from beyond the arc. His performances helped lead Stockton to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with a 22-12 record, eventually setting the stage for a Conference Finals matchup against the Austin Spurs on Apr. 6.
Jones’ career has already been marked by significant achievements, including All-NBA G League First Team honors in 2022 and Second Team honors in 2024. Over the course of 91 regular-season games dating back to the 2021-22 season, he has averaged 22 points while shooting an impressive 42.3% from three on 6.9 attempts per game.
Jones has had several NBA call-ups, playing for the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Sacramento Kings.
Currently signed to a two-way contract with Sacramento, Jones’ 23.5 points per game in the G League regular season ranks eighth in the league. With the G League becoming an increasingly important proving ground for future NBA talent, Jones’ standout playoff performance could pave the way for another NBA opportunity.
For now, he stands alone in the moment — a performance that cements his place in G League playoff history.
