Aaron Rodgers has yet to say a thing about his future nearly a month after the New York Jets released him, but there has been a lot of speculation that a decision from the star quarterback could be coming this week. If so, it does not sound like the news will be delivered on Pat McAfee's show.
McAfee and his crew from "The Pat McAfee Show" are hosting a live event called "Big Night AHT" on Wednesday night at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa. The former NFL punter is close with Rodgers, who is favored to sign with the Steelers. That is why many have said that Wednesday's event would be the perfect time for Rodgers to make his big announcement.
It does not sound like that is going to happen. During a Wednesday appearance on Ben Roethlisberger's "Footbahlin" podcast, McAfee said "Aaron Rodgers is not on the docket" for Wednesday night's live event.

It is probably safe to take McAfee at his word. If there were even a chance that Rodgers might call into the event to announce his free agency decision, it would be in McAfee's best interest to just ignore the rumors. He would get better ratings that way.
Of course, Rodgers could decide on Wednesday that he is ready to commit to the Steelers and reach out to McAfee. The chances of that happening are slim.
No one really knows what Rodgers is waiting for at this point. It is worth noting that the Steelers are seemingly exploring an ambitious backup plan, but all indications are that their offer to the former NFL MVP still stands. Just don't expect Rodgers to accept it during "Big Night AHT."
