A player hitting two home runs in one game is quite the accomplishment in itself. Two home runs in one inning, however, is usually unheard of.
That is exactly what Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell did Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Adell's two home runs came in an eight-run fifth inning for the Angels.
Adell led off the fifth inning with a 408-foot home run to centerfield off Rays pitcher Zack Littell to extend the Angels lead to 3-1.

His second home run was a three-run home run to left field to cap off the eight-run inning for the Angels.
The two home runs for Adell were his first two this season, and they put the Angels in a prime position to win the series over Tampa Bay. They ended up winning the game, 11-1.

Adell is the first player with two home runs in one inning since Athletics 1B/DH Brent Rooker did it in May of last season and the first Angels player to accomplish the feat since Kendrys Morales did it in 2012. The only other Angel to have two homers in one inning is Rick Reichardt in 1966.
Adell is the 61st player to accomplish the feat in Major League Baseball history.
