Josh Giddey has been in red-hot form since the All-Star break, and Wednesday night’s performance against the Miami Heat may have been his most impressive to date.
The 22-year-old Australian tallied 28 points, 16 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and two steals in a 119–111 win, becoming just the third player in NBA history to post those numbers in a single game, joining Larry Bird and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
It marked Giddey’s seventh triple-double of the season and the 18th of his career, continuing a resurgent stretch for the four-year guard.

Since arriving in Chicago via a trade from Oklahoma City in June 2024, Giddey has steadily adjusted to his new environment and role. He’s now peaking at the ideal time.
In 19 games since the All-Star break, he’s averaged 21.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game, while shooting 50% from the field, 45.7% from beyond the arc and 80.9% at the free-throw line.
During that same stretch, Giddey has recorded 177 assists — the eighth-most in the NBA — and his 204 rebounds rank third among all guards.
Wednesday’s performance wasn’t just a statistical marvel; it was a critical contribution in a must-win scenario. With the Bulls fighting for position in the Eastern Conference play-in race, Giddey’s all-around brilliance proved decisive. The win pushed Chicago to 37–43, narrowly ahead of the Heat in the standings.
For a team plagued by inconsistency and injuries, Giddey's emergence as a reliable, high-level presence has been a game-changer and a source of optimism moving forward.
Beyond the box score, his command of tempo, elite rebounding for his position and creative playmaking continue to set him apart. While comparisons to legends like Bird and Antetokounmpo may seem premature, Giddey is building a compelling case for stardom — and a significant payday could be on the horizon.
At just 22, with a skill set that keeps expanding, Giddey looks every bit the future centerpiece for which the Bulls have been searching.
