On Friday, the New York Knicks signed former Sixth Man of the Year, Malcolm Brogdon. He joins Landry Shamet as a recent addition to Mike Brown's roster. However, his addition has created some questions over how the Knicks will fit both Shamet and Brodgon onto the squad without encroaching on the second luxury tax apron.
According to Stefan Bondy of The New York Post, the Knicks are expected to make a trade that will allow them to keep both Shamet and Brogdon.
People around the league expecting the Knicks to make a move to have space to keep Brogdon AND either Shamet or Mathews.

Stay tuned.
New York has multiple tradeable assets at their disposal, with Miles McBride and Tyler Kolak among the most likely to be dangled in trade discussions.
Last season, the Knicks ranked dead last for bench points per game, with an average of 21.7. Some of those struggles were down to Tom Thibodeau's over-reliance on the top 6 of his rotation. However, the lack of genuine depth on the Knicks roster also played a part.
This summer, New York has added Brodgon, Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson while also re-signing Shamet. The bench unit has been drastically improved, with scoring now at a premium throughout the roster.
If both Brogdon and Shamet stick with the roster heading into the new season, Brown will have endless roster combinations he can explore.
Brogdon has struggled with injuries throughout his career. The former Rookie and Sixth Man of the Year has played in 63 of 164 regular-season games in recent years. However, if the Knicks can manage his playing time and keep him on the court, he will be a major boost to their half-court offense.
Signing Brogdon to what is likely a non-guaranteed minimum deal means the Knicks haven't put too much at stake with his addition. If it works out, they would have gotten a steal. If not, they're no worse off and can part ways next summer.
New York came into the summer with a clear weakness in the roster construction. Now, they head into the new season as one of the biggest contenders for the Larry O'Brien trophy.
It's a great time to be a Knicks fan.
