Technically, Ja Morant's second-quarter basket in the play-in game was an offensive rebound, but in spirit, it was an assist to himself.

It didn't matter that Tuesday night's game with the Golden State Warriors could get his Memphis Grizzlies into the playoffs. It didn't matter that his team was rallying from a 20-point deficit. Morant can't help delivering spectacular moves, like the play where he got caught in the air, fired a shot off the backboard and recovered the rebound to score himself.
That level of showmanship is inevitable in a battle between All-Star guards Morant and Stephen Curry, who ran around nearly every Grizzlies defender and circumnavigated the court on his way to a four-point play earlier in the quarter.

Curry spread the wealth, following up a very long three-pointer by finding Moses Moody for a powerful slam.
