Malik Beasley is going after another one of his former NBA teammates this week.
The Detroit Pistons guard spoke with reporters on Thursday before his team’s playoff matchup against the New York Knicks. During the session, Beasley was asked about the challenge of dealing with Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, who was Beasley’s old teammate on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Beasley responded by essentially blowing off the question and saying that he was not at all worried about Towns.
“I’m not worried about KAT,” said Beasley. “I don’t even think about him … He’s the least of my worries.”

There are a lot of different directions that Beasley could have gone there with the question about Towns, whom he played with in Minnesota from 2020-22. But instead of saying something positive, Beasley decided to get shady instead.
Beasley and the Pistons had themselves a phenomenal regular season. Detroit secured the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 44-38 record (a stunning turnaround after it won just 14 games last season). Beasley also held up his end of the bargain by hitting a career-high 319 total threes off the bench with an average of 16.3 points per game.
Ahead of the first-round matchup against the No. 3 seed Knicks, it is clear that the Pistons are going with a “Detroit vs. everybody” mentality (which Beasley also had last week in openly feuding with another of his ex-teammates).
