Devin Jackson is a four-star safety recruit from Orlando, Florida. He has been committed to the Florida Gators for quite some time, but that commitment no longer stands.
Jackson originally chose the Gators over the likes of Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Missouri, Texas A&M and UCF in late July 2024 — a long commitment as far as the standards of today's recruitments are concerned.
The issue for Florida was that Jackson had pledged in part to defensive backs coach Will Harris, who was his primary recruiter at Florida. Harris was poached by Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes early in 2025, and now Jackson is decommitting from Florida.
Perhaps not surprisingly, according to Hunter Shelton of On3, Miami should now be considered a top school to watch regarding Jackson's now-opened recruitment. Notably, he visited Miami two times in March after receiving an offer from the Hurricanes in February.
“It’s just the right decision for me right now,” Jackson told Chad Simmons of On3 regarding his decision.

Miami will be a program to watch, but one would imagine Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Missouri, Texas A&M and UCF will try to get back into the mix as well.
In all, Jackson has more than 40 offers. According to the 247Sports Composite, Jackson is the No. 28 safety in the 2026 class.
