The days of both Katherine Legge and Kasey Kahne took a turn for the worse in the early going of Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway.
On Lap 53 of the North Carolina Education Lottery 250, William Sawalich was maneuvering around Legge when he made contact with the left-rear of Legge's car, shooting it up the track and into the wall. As Legge's car slid down the banking, it made contact with Sawalich and Kasey Kahne, giving both Sawalich and Kahne considerable right-front damage.

Legge's No. 53 was totaled, while both Sawalich and Kahne were able to continue, albeit with the aforementioned damage. Legge will finish the race in 38th out of 38 cars.
Sawalich is a member of the 2025 Xfinity Series rookie class, while Kahne was making his first start in any NASCAR division since 2018. Legge initially failed to qualify for Saturday's race in the No. 32 Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing, but JJ Yeley — who had made the field with Joey Gase Racing's No. 53 Chevrolet — stepped aside, allowing Legge to take over the No. 53 car.
Legge is scheduled to make six more Xfinity Series starts in 2025, along with five starts in the NASCAR Cup Series. Her next Xfinity Series start is slated for April 26 at Talladega Superspeedway, while her next Cup Series start will take place at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City on June 15.
