NASCAR Xfinity Series team owner Joey Gase was none too happy with Xfinity Series driver William Sawalich after an early crash in Saturday's North Carolina Education Lottery 250 at Rockingham Speedway.
Katherine Legge was driving Gase's No. 53 car in Saturday's race after she initially failed to qualify driving the No. 32 car for Jordan Anderson Racing. JJ Yeley practiced and qualified the No. 53, but Legge was put in the car for the race.
On Lap 53, Legge was being lapped by William Sawalich in turn 1 when Sawalich made contact with the left-rear of Legge's Chevrolet, turning Legge into the wall. Legge made contact with Sawalich and Kasey Kahne on her way down the banking.
Seeing as one of his cars was turned into a heap of scrap metal in a matter of seconds, Gase was understandably frustrated with Sawalich and took his frustrations to social media.
"And this is why this Joe Gibbs driver is 24th in owner points. Sad. Katherine Legge was doing a hell of a job," Gase said in an X post.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver Gase mentioned was, of course, Sawalich, who hasn't finished inside the top-10 since Circuit of the Americas on March 1. It's been a rough rookie season in the Xfinity Series for the 18-year-old, and it doesn't look to be getting much better on Saturday.
