When the New York Knicks got in trouble in Game 1, they called on their superstar to save the game. Trailing big in the fourth quarter of Game 2, Jalen Brunson got his cape again, even though the rescue fell short.

Actor Timothee Chalamet attended Game 2 on Monday night, likely relating to Brunson delivering an amazing performance but not getting a win for it. He saw Brunson put the Knicks on his back when they trailed by 13 points midway through the final quarter, thanks to Detroit's stifling defense.
Brunson delivered a combination of three-pointers, floaters and free throws to erase the deficit with a minute to go, fouling out the Pistons' young defensive ace, Ausar Thompson, along the way. Like Game 1, Brunson also mysterious disappeared into the locker room briefly before returning after a timeout.
His head coach had a theory about what happened in the previous game.
Jalen Brunson went back to the locker room in the second half and returned on fire.

Tom Thibodeau on why he went back there: "I think he grabbed his cape."
Brunson finished with 37 points, seven assists and two steals, but it wasn't enough in a game where 24.4 PPG scorer Karl-Anthony Towns put up only 10 points, Mikal Bridges missed his last four shots and the Knicks got only eight points from their bench.
The Knicks' All-Star still had a chance to tie the game, but his pullup three-pointer with 46 seconds left went wide. Then, with 11 seconds to go, Brunson passed to Bridges for a wide-open three, but his Villanova teammate's shot was off-target.
Sometimes a hero can't do it alone. Brunson still needs to pack his cape when the Knicks travel to Detroit for Game 3 on Thursday.
