Watch: Clippers' Norman Powell, Nuggets' Jamal Murray get into it

The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers are locked in a tough first-round series. In the third quarter of Game 2, that tension turned into a physical confrontation.

The two teams went at each other in the third quarter when Jamal Murray fouled Norman Powell. While wrapping him up, seemingly to prevent a shot attempt, Murray ended up lifting Powell off the ground. Powell took issue with it. The Nuggets' Christian Braun ran in and shoved Powell. The Clippers' Kris Dunn came in and got in Braun's face.

After an extensive replay review and some jawing from both teams, the referees called technical fouls on everybody but Murray. While Murray instigated the entire dust-up, he was only called for a common foul, perhaps because what he did was so unusual.

Just like the lack of rules prohibiting a dog from playing basketball, the NBA may have neglected to list "lifting a guy up for no reason and then running away" as part of the flagrant foul criteria.

Perhaps motivated by the injustice of the punishment, Nic Batum stole the ball from Murray on the next possession, and Ben Simmons found Dunn for a dunk.

The Clippers may have picked up an extra technical foul, but they also ended the sequence with an extra point.
