Travis Hunter's father being allowed by court to travel to 2025 NFL Draft

Travis Hunter Sr. has a ton to be proud about when it comes to his son, Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

Not only was the younger Hunter the best player in college football last season and an absolute phenom who was able to play both wide receiver and cornerback at a high level, but he's bound to be a top pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

The draft will kick off this Thursday from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin and Hunter Sr. just received some good news. He'll be able to be in attendance to watch his son get drafted into the NFL.

Hunter Sr. is currently under probation in the state of Florida. He was arrested in 2023 on gun and drug charges and was given a 90-day jail sentence in September 2024. Though he was released early, he wasn't in attendance in New York when his son won the Heisman Trophy in December.

His probationary period is three years, with the first year to be completed under home confinement, but he was given an exception from that probation to head to Green Bay for this huge moment for his son. 

According to Tom D'Angelo of The Palm Beach Post, Hunter Sr. will leave West Palm Beach the day before the draft under orders to return home on Friday. While in Green Bay, he'll be confined to the grounds of the hotel he'll be staying at, as well as the grounds of Lambeau Field on Thursday.

Last season for Colorado, Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wideout while also notching 35 tackles, 11 passes defended, one forced fumble and four interceptions as the Buffaloes' starting cornerback.

He wants to play both ways in the NFL, and he very well may be able to pull it off.
