The Jets could have gone in several directions at the 2025 NFL Draft but chose to address their offensive line by taking Missouri right tackle Armand Membou with the seventh overall pick.
Per The Athletic’s Zach Rosenblatt, Membou says the Jets are getting “getting a mauler, for sure. I'm going to make sure to keep my quarterback clean." He can certainly do that.
Pro Football Focus ranked Membou as the second-best tackle in the draft, crediting him with three sacks allowed on 1,036 snaps as a pass-blocker in college. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Membou shows balance and quickness that should allow him to play guard or tackle at the NFL level.
Widely listed at 6-foot-3 and 314 pounds, Membou weighed in at 332 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine where he led the position with a 34-inch vertical leap and a 9-foot-7 broad jump. He also ran a 4.91 40-yard dash, the second-best time among offensive linemen.

After spending the last four years with Detroit, new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn understands the importance of offensive linemen. Aside from signing former Packers center Josh Myers, the Jets paid little attention to the offensive line this offseason, even after losing veteran tackle Morgan Moses to the Patriots.
Left tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu allowed just one sack after coming to New York in the first round of last year’s draft and played 336 snaps at left tackle. Membou took 1,964 snaps at right guard in three years with the Tigers and should have no problem winning the job over Chukwuma Okorafor, a third-round pick of the Steelers in 2018.
The Jets still have seven picks remaining in the draft, with multiple picks in the fifth and sixth rounds. The draft resumes on Friday, April 25 at 7 p.m. EST for second- and third-round picks with later rounds to be held on Saturday, April 26, at noon EST.
