Birmingham City is closing out its 2024–25 League One season in historic fashion. With a 1–0 victory on the road at Stevenage on Thursday, the Blues surged to 102 points, marking one of the most dominant third-tier campaigns in recent memory.
The decisive goal came in the 75th minute from Alex Cochrane, securing Birmingham’s 31st win in 43 matches. The Blues have suffered just three league defeats all season, highlighting their remarkable consistency.
The all-time League One points record stands at 103, set by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2013–14 season. With three fixtures remaining, Birmingham is poised to surpass that benchmark and etch its name into the history books.
102 points. One hundred and two.

Under the co-ownership of NFL legend Tom Brady and the stewardship of head coach Chris Davies, Birmingham have undergone a dramatic transformation.
Following relegation from the Championship last season, the club made a bold statement in the transfer market, reportedly spending around $40M on player recruitment.
The headline signing was 22-year-old striker Jay Stansfield, acquired for a League One record fee believed to be in the region of $20M, reportedly rising to $26M with add-ons.
Stansfield has delivered on expectations, scoring 23 goals in all competitions, including 19 in the league, second only to Leyton Orient’s Charlie Kelman.
Birmingham’s campaign has been defined by both dominance and resilience. It became the fastest team to reach 80 points in League One history, achieving the milestone in just 35 matches. Its home form has been formidable, going unbeaten at St Andrew’s while racking up an eight-game winning streak — the longest in the league this season.
Despite falling short in the EFL Trophy final with a 2–0 defeat to Peterborough United at Wembley, Birmingham’s league success has more than compensated for that disappointment.
Its commanding run not only vindicates the club’s investment strategy but also reinforces Brady’s vision of restoring Birmingham to prominence.
While this season's success may not come as a surprise to many, the club is well-positioned for a strong push in the second tier and will undoubtedly set its sights on Premier League promotion in the coming years.
As promotion to the Championship draws near, the Blues stand on the verge of a record-breaking finish — one that will be remembered as a masterclass in ambition, leadership and execution.
