Jayson Tatum joins elite company with Celtics' Game 4 win

The Boston Celtics secured a 107-98 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 4 on Sunday, taking a 3-1 lead in their opening-round playoff series.

The win showcased both the team's collective strength and the individual brilliance of Jayson Tatum, who erupted for 37 points and 14 rebounds while reaching a historic milestone.

Tatum's 70th career playoff win places him among an exclusive group of players who have achieved this feat before turning 27.

Only Magic Johnson (85), Kobe Bryant (79), Tony Parker (79), Jaylen Brown (74), Kawhi Leonard (73) and LeBron James (72) have accomplished the same, solidifying Tatum’s place among the NBA's all-time greats in postseason play.

What makes the 27-year-old's achievement particularly impressive is his consistent postseason performance. The Celtics star has played in four of the last five Eastern Conference Finals, with two NBA Finals appearances, including the 2024 NBA Championship.

Over the years, Tatum has transformed from a promising young talent to one of the most reliable and impactful players in the league, especially in high-pressure playoff situations.

His ability to perform when it matters most has become a defining trait of his career, and his 70th playoff victory highlights his crucial role in the Celtics' continued success.

Meanwhile, Al Horford also made history in Game 4. At 38 years old, Horford became just the second player in NBA history to record five blocks in a playoff game at that age or older, joining the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

This remarkable defensive milestone is a testament to Horford's longevity and ability to influence the game on both ends of the floor. In addition to his defensive performance, Horford contributed six points, six rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes of play.

Horford’s presence remains vital to Boston’s championship aspirations. His leadership and defensive contributions are invaluable, particularly in critical moments that require experience and poise.

Together, these accomplishments demonstrate the Celtics' promising future and championship pedigree. With Tatum leading the charge and Horford defying age, the Celtics are on a legitimate push to secure back-to-back titles.
