Jalen Brunson has cemented his place in the forever nightmares of Detroit Pistons fans.

The New York Knicks star Brunson was the hero in Game 6 of his team’s first-round playoff series against the Pistons on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Brunson finished with a magnificent 40 points, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 4.3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to break a 113-113 tie.

Hitting Pistons forward Ausar Thompson with a wicked crossover move to get open before splashing the trey, Brunson proved why he was the NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year this season. His big shot gave the Knicks the 4-2 series victory, ending the Pistons’ season.

Adding to the mystique of Brunson’s game-winning shot was the rare feat that he achieved along the way. Brunson managed to get a scarcely heard double “Bang!” from Mike Breen, who was calling the game on local television. Take a listen below.

In addition to his national television duties for ESPN, Breen is the longtime TV play-by-play announcer for Knicks games on MSG Network. “Bang!” is Breen’s signature call, but the double “Bang!” usually only comes out for the most epic moments of the NBA postseason.

Brunson’s series-winner certainly met that category, and it was even more fitting that Breen was able to bust out the double “Bang!” for his hometown team in the Knicks. The two-time All-Star Brunson got under the Pistons’ skin throughout the series with his perceived flopping, but in the single biggest moment of the six-game set, Brunson’s game was more than able to speak for itself.
