Buddy Hield is one of the most dynamic long-range shooters in the NBA, but consistency has never really been his calling card. And as Stan Van Gundy aptly pointed out midway through the first quarter of the tightly contested Warriors-Rockets Game 7 broadcast, the Warriors’ success is often—for better or for worse—tied to the shooting of Hield.
In the three games the Warriors have won so far during this series, Hield has shot 8-22 from deep, and in their losses, just 1-9.
Luckily for the Warriors, Hield looks to be firing on all cylinders during Game 7. While Stephen Curry has been largely held in check during the opening half of the final game of the first round, Hield closed out the first quarter with a near-half-court three-point swish.

It's been said many times before, but it remains as true as ever: There are no two better words in sports than "Game 7." When everything is on the line and the stakes are at their very highest, that's when iconic moments are made. If Hield can continue his hot shooting, and a few other role players can step up for the Warriors, their overall experience and know-how will likely prove too much for the young Rockets.
If the Warriors do end up advancing to the second round, they will have a matchup against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves to look forward to. A matchup that Edwards himself has already voiced his excited anticipation for.
