Video shows Lions' Hutchinson still has long way to go in recovery

Aidain Hutchinson has been working his way back from a gruesome leg injury he suffered last year, and the latest video of his progress has some Detroit Lions fans feeling a bit uneasy.

Hutchinson suffered a gruesome leg injury in Week 6 last season. He had indicated that he planned to return if the Lions made a deep postseason run, but it does not seem like that would have been realistic.

A new rehab video surfaced last week that showed Hutchinson going through some intense workouts with a full compression sleeve on his left leg. While it is clear that the former No. 2 overall pick has come a long way, many people felt Hutchinson lacked his usual explosion.

You can be the judge:

Hutchinson definitely looked a step slow during some of those field drills, though it is unclear if he was giving full effort.

Hutchinson was on track for a monster third NFL season before he went down last year, as he had 7.5 sacks in just five games. He has 28.5 total sacks in 39 career games.

Even if Hutchinson is not quite nearing full strength, it would be unwise to write him off at age 24. There was another video not that long ago that gave fans reason for optimism, and Hutchinson still has a while to go before Week 1.
