Concern grows after two-time WNBA champion taken to locker room with apparent injury

The Atlanta Dream and Washington Mystics played a WNBA preseason game on Wednesday in DC.

With the 2025 WNBA campaign, preseason games are being played around the league as teams fill out their final roster and figure out what their rotations might look like this year.

The Mystics' first preseason game came on Saturday in a 79-74 loss to a Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever team.

The Dream, however, did not play a preseason game until Wednesday. And, unfortunately for Atlanta, a key injury happened right after the game began.

Jordin Canada was taken to the locker room with a knee injury and was later ruled out, per the Dream's PR account.

Canada began her WNBA career with the Seattle Storm, then spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks before being traded to the Dream in 2024.

Canada won two WNBA titles with the Storm, was the WNBA steals leader twice and a two-time WNBA All-Defensive first-teamer, so she is a key piece of this Dream roster.

Canada was seen being carried to the locker room, so the extent of the injury may be serious.

Canada also just played in the inaugural season of the new Unrivaled League with team Vinyl.
