Danny Green to Draymond Green: It's not about your skin color

Danny Green thinks Draymond Green is barking up the wrong tree.

Green was upset after being called Thursday for his fifth technical foul of the playoffs. The call occurred in the second quarter of his Golden State Warriors’ playoff loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center in Minneapolis. Green is now two technical foul calls away from receiving an automatic suspension this postseason.

After the game, Green deflected responsibility and lashed out at the perception that he’s an “angry Black man.” Danny Green is not having any of that.

Green appeared on ESPN show “NBA Today” Friday and discussed the Draymond situation along with Malika Andrews and Kendrick Perkins.

“It has nothing to do with the skin color to me,” Danny Green said. “You gotta look in the mirror at some point and say that ‘everybody around me is not crazy.’ They can’t be pointing the finger.”

“Nobody’s targeting you. You’re allowing yourself to be targeted with the way you’re acting out there,” Danny Green added.

Perkins went beyond that and said Draymond does look angry on the court.

Beyond just the technical foul and Draymond complaining about the way he feels he is being portrayed, the Warriors veteran was involved in another controversy. A Timberwolves fan was ejected from the game for comments apparently made toward Draymond.

Draymond seems to be a magnet for controversy when he plays — and that is especially the case during the postseason.
