It was the Julius Randle and Anthony Edwards show for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night in a 102-97 win over the Golden State Warriors, giving them a 2-1 lead in their second-round series. That duo has typically been the driving force behind Minnesota's success this postseason, but they took it to an entirely different level of dominance on Saturday.
Randle logged a triple-double in the win, recording 24 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists, while also adding three steals for good measure in his 40 minutes of basketball. He was also a team-best plus-14 when he was on the floor.
He is the first Timberwolves player to record a triple-double in a playoff game since Kevin Garnett more than 20 years ago.

Edwards, meanwhile, was the team's leading scorer with 36 points while shooting 13-of-28 from the floor, including 5-of-14 from three-point range.
While Edwards' offense was significant, Randle was the real difference-maker on Saturday. As he has been for most of the playoffs for the Timberwolves.
He was especially clutch in the fourth quarter, recording five of his rebounds and five of his assists down the stretch, dominating the glass and controlling the game in all phases.
It was a stark contrast to Golden State's star players and how they performed in the fourth quarter.
After a dominant offensive showing in the first three quarters, Jimmy Butler started to wear down in the fourth quarter, while Draymond Green fouled out with four minutes to play in a two-point game. Green had an especially tough night, finishing with more fouls (six) than points (two) and rebounds (two) combined. As long as Steph Curry is sidelined, the Warriors are going to need more from the stars they still have in the lineup.
On Saturday, Minnesota's top players shone brighter. That is why they are going into Game 4 with the series lead.
