Five most lopsided games of 2025 NFL season

On any given Sunday, an NFL team can find a path to victory or just get extremely lucky. It's why there's a regular season in the first place. All 32 teams need to play 17 games and prove who deserves a postseason spot by the end of the 18-week season.

Still, there are plenty of football Sundays full of blowouts and ugly losses as some matchups prove too hard to overcome. Looking at the 2025 NFL schedule, these are the five most lopsided games that stand out.

Week 1: Tennessee Titans vs. Denver Broncos

Cam Ward will start his NFL career with the Titans at 5,280 feet above sea level, facing off against a Broncos defense that recorded 15 interceptions in 2024. The Broncos surprised the league last year with a 10-7 record and their first playoff appearance in eight years. Now, Denver is looking to make a real postseason run.

This is an unfortunate way for any quarterback to kick off the season. For a rookie quarterback with the lofty expectations of turning his franchise's fortunes around, it'll probably have to be a lesson through failure to get anything positive out of this game.

Week 4: New Orleans Saints vs. Buffalo Bills

The Saints' lack of vision for team building bit them hard when quarterback Derek Carr announced his retirement due to injury. First-year head coach Kellen Moore will have to hope that second-round pick Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler or Jake Haener are ready to lead New Orleans through 2025.

An early stop for the Saints will be in Buffalo, New York, where the team will face off against reigning MVP Josh Allen and a revamped Bills defense. Expect this game to be a trouncing of the rebuilding Saints as the Bills march to another postseason face-off with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Week 6: Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants

On Thursday Night Football, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and the rest of the defending champs will head into MetLife Stadium against an improved Giants defensive front. Unfortunately for the Giants, they're 16-17-3 on Thursday nights all-time.

The team will be coming off a short week led by new quarterback Russell Wilson, 36, as head coach Brian Daboll navigates 2025 on the hot seat. History also suggests it'll repeat itself as the Giants have only beaten the Eagles four times in the past decade.

Week 12: Indianapolis Colts vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Colts fans will hope that quarterback Anthony Richardson has grown and matured this offseason after a disappointing 2024. Even if Richardson does bounce back and stops quarterback Daniel Jones from taking his job, he probably won't have improved enough to beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium.

Few teams march into Kansas City and come out with a win. In fact, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 44-11 at home. On paper, the Colts are a perfect opponent to showcase that the Chiefs will be ready for tougher challenges in the home stretch of the 2025 season.

Week 16: New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Patriots seem to be trending upward after hiring team legend Mike Vrabel as head coach. They also made the wise decision to focus on rebuilding the trenches to protect sophomore quarterback Drake Maye. Still, New England is far from competing against the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens.

By Week 16, the Ravens will likely be locked in another tight race for top seeding in the AFC playoffs, meaning every game counts. Expect Baltimore to take care of business while the rebuilding Patriots look ahead to their spot in the 2026 draft.
