The 2025 NFL regular season schedule has been released, and per NFL research, New York has the seventh-easiest schedule with opponents holding a .460 win percentage in 2024.
Here’s what stands out about this year’s schedule:
Toughest stretch | Week 2 through Week 4
After opening the regular season against the Steelers and their TBD quarterback, the Jets stay home in Week 2 to face the Buffalo Bills and NFL MVP Josh Allen. The Bills quarterback is 9-4 against the Jets for his career, with eight wins in the team's last 10 meetings.
Then it’s off to Tampa Bay to face the NFC South champions in Week 3. The Jets are actually 10-3 against the Buccaneers but haven’t beaten them since Geno Smith led the team to an 18-17 win in 2013.

Week 4 brings the Jets back to Florida for a Monday night matchup against the rival Dolphins. New York beat Miami 32-20 to end last year’s regular season, but are 4-2 against them since Mike McDaniel took over as Dolphins coach in 2022.
Easiest stretch | Week 9 through Week 11
The Jets should have no problems with a Week 9 bye and few issues against a 3-14 Browns team at home in Week 10.
With quarterback Deshaun Watson on the shelf with a torn Achilles, Cleveland will have to choose between 40-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco, former Steelers and Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett, third-round pick Dillon Gabriel or fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders. None of which should scare an Aaron Glenn defense.
Next up is a road game against the New England Patriots, who went 4-13 in 2024 and 0-4 in games with rookie quarterback Drake Maye. Factor in a new coaching staff led by former Patriot Mike Vrabel and New England certainly seems more beatable than the Baltimore Ravens, the Jets’ Week 12 opponent.
Back to the future | Week 1 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
As mentioned earlier, the Pittsburgh Steelers currently have no idea who their starting quarterback will be in 2025. Mason Rudolph, the team’s third-round pick in 2018, sits atop the depth chart, but they also have a standing offer with former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers signed a three-year, $112M contract to join New York in 2023 but was released in the offseason in favor of new Jets quarterback Justin Fields, who was traded to the Steelers last offseason and started six games before being benched for Russell Wilson.
Assuming Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh, the Steelers and Jets could each start the 2025 regular season against the quarterback that started their 2024 regular season. Props to the schedule makers for this one, although a primetime matchup would have been nice.
