Elijah Williams is one of the top small forward recruits in the 2026 class. He also has an NBA pedigree going for him.
His father, Monty Williams, played in the league for nine seasons as a first-round draft pick and was later an NBA head coach.
As such, the younger Williams was one of the more intriguing players to watch on the 2026 recruiting trail, and it has come out that he's made a big decision. With offers from some of the top programs in the nation to his name, Williams has made a commitment to Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears.

I chose Baylor because of the love they showed me everyday and because of the elite program Coach Drew built that I want to be apart of," Williams told Joe Tipton of On3 of his decision to commit to the Bears.
He's a 6-foot-6 small forward from San Antonio who chose Baylor over offers from the likes of Arizona, Alabama, Kansas, Notre Dame and Oregon, amongst others.
Williams is currently playing EYBL basketball and he's averaging 20.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for his team.
“I would describe myself as a three-level scorer who loves to get downhill and shoot the three," Williams said when asked to describe his game. "And can guard any position on the court.”
In Williams, Baylor is getting a player who likely has an NBA future in some capacity. His father was selected No. 24 overall by the New York Knicks in 1994, and though he was never a star, he did carve out an almost decade-long NBA career.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Elijah Williams is the No. 15 small forward recruit in the country and the No. 4 overall recruit from the state of Texas.
