Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky took another incremental step on Tuesday night, but ended up losing 94-89 to the Phoenix Mercury in front of 8,818 fans at PHX Arena. Reese recorded her third double-double through four games, adding 13 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

However, she was tied with Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins for having the most turnovers (3) on the Sky. Chicago lost the turnover battle 16-9, an issue that has been a big contributor to an ugly 0-4 start under first-year head coach Tyler Marsh.

Following the game, Reese told the media that the Sky proved they could score. The team’s 89 points were the highest of the season by 10 points. She thinks the defense needs to improve.

“Obviously, we’re not satisfied,” Reese said. “A lot of us are winners. All of us are winners. We want to win.”
