After tumultuous 'Double' attempt, Kyle Larson looks to right the ship at Nashville

Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway might just be the perfect medicine for Kyle Larson.

After a frustrating "Double" attempt in which Larson crashed out of both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25, Larson enters Sunday's Cracker Barrel 400 having lost the Cup Series points lead to William Byron after a 37th-place finish at Charlotte.

But one of Larson's best attributes is the fact that he and the No. 5 team rarely go through prolonged slumps. Prior to his crash in the Coke 600, Larson won the previous Cup Series points race at Kansas on May 11.

That's why it should be no surprise that Larson enters Nashville as the favorite to win the 14th race of the 2025 Cup Series season. Larson won the inaugural Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway in 2021, and in the four races held at Nashville, he hasn't finished worse than eighth.

That eighth-place finish occurred in 2024, when Larson squandered a chance at a second Nashville win when he got into Ross Chastain on an overtime restart that was only part of a chaotic, five-overtime finish.

But after a month of May that saw Larson jet across the country more times than he could count and ended with crashes in two of the most prestigious races in the world, there would be no better remedy than for Larson to go out and dominate at one of his best tracks.
