Watch: Home run party powers Blue Jays to 12-0 win

The Toronto Blue Jays slugged their way to a convincing win that evens up their overall record. Toronto is now 28-28 on the year after a 12-0 thumping of the Athletics on Thursday.

During the route of the Athletics, four different Blue Jays went yard as Toronto scored 12 runs off 18 hits.

Ernie Clement, who had three hits and five total RBI in the game, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. both hit bombs in a big second inning that cracked the game wide-open. Toronto put eight runs on the board in that second inning and then added three more in the third.

In the third inning, two more Toronto stars joined the home run party. Bo Bichette smashed a two-run shot and George Springer connected on a solo dinger, or affectionally referred to as a "Springer Dinger" by fans, to put the game out of reach before even getting to the middle innings.

With six batters recording multiple hits, Clement and Bichette stood out. Clement went 3-for-5 and Bichette was 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Even though the Blue Jays offense led the way, Jose Berrios was powerful in his own right on the mound. Berrios, now 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 12 starts, pitched six shutout innings as he allowed only two hits and struck out nine Athletics.

Toronto will now look to end the week with a winning record and keep pace as one of the teams looking up at the New York Yankees in the American League East. The Blue Jays will stay home for three more games with the lowly Athletics throughout the weekend.
