Floodgates have opened for Justin Allgaier after winning Xfinity Series championship

Defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier has never been better.

Despite a career filled with 25 wins, seven Championship 4 appearances and the 2024 Xfinity Series title, 2025 has been Allgaier's magnum opus; a season in which the floodgates have opened for the No. 7 team after Allgaier finally claimed an elusive championship in November of 2024.

Allgaier won for the third time in 2025 at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday, leading 101 of 188 laps. With 14 races complete, Allgaier has a 92-point advantage over Austin Hill in the Xfinity Series standings. He's already matched his mark of top-five finishes (10) that he did a year ago in his championship season. In addition to his success in the Xfinity Series, Allgaier also qualified for and earned a top-10 in the Daytona 500, which was the first ever Cup Series start for JR Motorsports.

It seems that Allgaier's long-awaited title only lit a bigger fire under him as he looks to defend his championship in 2025.

"Pretty fun to see Justin still successful, really kind of in his prime," car owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. said in a post-race news conference on Saturday. "I'm in the best position I've ever been in," Allgaier said in his post-race news conference on Saturday. "I'm working harder today than I've ever worked. (I'm) in the simulator, watching film, studying with (crew chief) Jim Pohlman and this No. 7 group. I spend probably 10 times the amount of time (working) that I did 10 years ago. To be relevant and to be good in this sport, I think you have to put the work into it."

That work has certainly paid off so far and put Allgaier in a position to win another Xfinity Series championship.
