The Michigan Wolverines won the 1997-98 national championship behind the incredible play of Heisman Trophy winning cornerback Charles Woodson, who made the biggest plays of the season in the biggest games.
Woodson went on to win a Super Bowl title in Green Bay and became a Hall of Fame player who helped redefine his position at the next level.
On Wednesday, Woodson's son reported what his father had been longing to hear as he shared big news about the Wolverines football program on his X account after a recent offer from another football powerhouse.
"Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Michigan!!!!" Woodson Jr. wrote on his X account as he broke the news Wednesday.
The Lake Nona, Florida native has been a fast riser among high school prospects since he began receiving attention from bigger schools.
Michigan fans clamored for the Wolverines to offer Woodson Jr. and finally got their wish, shortly after he was offered by the Florida State Seminoles.

Woodson Jr. now has a four-star ranking on On3.com after his latest accumulation of scholarship offers.
Woodson Jr. has offers from Texas A&M, Sacramento State, Michigan, Florida State, Ole Miss, Syracuse, Delaware and Kentucky.
He reports a height of 5-foot-11 and a weight of 170 pounds and will be part of the Class of 2027 as a free safety and cornerback.
Michigan football has been linked to over 50 prospects so far for the Class of 2027.
Woodson Jr. would become a centerpiece in the class should he decide to sign on the dotted line.
