Aaron Rodgers reportedly informed the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday that he plans to sign with them ahead of mandatory minicamp, which means NFL fans can officially start circling dates on their calendars.
With Rodgers now likely in the fold, several games on the Steelers' 2025 schedule have instantly become must-see television.
Here are the five that you won't want to miss:
5. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills (Week 13)
Rodgers is 41 and nowhere near the player he was before he tore his Achilles, but Rodgers vs. Josh Allen has the potential to be a premier quarterback matchup. Allen has drawn comparisons to Rodgers because of his mobility, arm strength and knack for making something out of nothing. There are few quarterbacks in NFL history who have made more plays on the run than Allen and Rodgers.
Allen grew up idolizing Rodgers and once called it "surreal" that he had a chance to play against the 10-time Pro Bowler. He will now have another opportunity to do so.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals (Week 7)
Rodgers' first test of AFC North football will likely come in Week 7, when the Steelers travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals in primetime on "Thursday Night Football." For years, AFC North rivals have played tough, physical games against one another that often come down to one score.
Though Rodgers should be used to elite intra-divisional competition from his many years in the NFC North, it will be interesting to see how he emerges from a potential slugfest.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers at Chicago Bears (Week 13)
Bears fans hate Rodgers, and they will now have another opportunity to show him just how much.
Rodgers owns the Bears and has gone out of his way to let their fans know it. He is an absurd 24-5 in his career against Chicago. Rodgers last faced the Bears during the 2020 season, which feels like a lifetime ago.
Rodgers has given the Bears nonstop bulletin-board material throughout his career, but they have hardly done a thing about it. This may be their final chance to change that.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Green Bay Packers (Week 8)
The Steelers host the Packers in Week 8 on "Sunday Night Football," which will mark the first time that Rodgers has a chance to face his former team. Fans would have preferred for this game to be at Lambeau Field, but it will still have added meaning for Rodgers.
Though Rodgers' relationship with the Packers soured before he was traded to New York, he has recently suggested that there are no serious issues between the sides. That does not mean Rodgers will be any less motivated to beat Green Bay.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Jets (Week 1)
Ah, yes, the main event. NFL decision-makers were likely hoping that Rodgers would eventually join the Steelers when they scheduled this game for Week 1, though it would have been nice to have it in primetime.
Either way, Rodgers has a chance to begin his Steelers career with a game at MetLife Stadium. Rodgers blasted Aaron Glenn, the Jets' new head coach, earlier this offseason for the way the four-time MVP's release was handled.
NFL fans love revenge games, and they will get the biggest one of the season right out of the gate.
