Clemson continues to build elite 2026 class with addition of four-star OL 

Scruggs took an official visit to Clemson this past weekend, and that's what sealed the deal for him.

“I think it’s because they stick to the culture,” Scruggs explained, per Steve Wiltfong of On3. “They have a very strict and specific way of recruiting. It works very well for them. Specifically in the way they do everything. I can see why they’ve been so successful the past 20 years. Coach Swinney has been really really good with everything, Development wise, they’re developing their guys. Their not taking anyone out of the portal. They rarely take anyone out of the portal and are developing high school guys.”

The relationship with Swinney and offensive line coach Matt Luke also played a huge role in Scruggs' commitment.

“I built really strong relationships with those two,” he explained.

Speaking of Luke, Clemson is building quite an offensive line recruiting class for him to work with in the future. Scruggs is just the latest big-time addition. He's ranked as the No. 9 interior offensive lineman recruit in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.

With Scruggs aboard, Swinney now has six offensive line commitments for the 2026 class, four of which are four-star recruits.

Clemson's class in general is stacked. It's 18 recruits deep at this point and is ranked No. 3 in the nation, behind USC and Notre Dame.
