Knicks' Josh Hart rips Tom Thibodeau critics in social media post

New York Knicks swingman Josh Hart does not appreciate some of the things he has heard about Tom Thibodeau since his former coach was fired last week.

Many were left stunned when the Knicks fired Thibodeau after he led the team on an unexpected Eastern Conference Finals run that also happened to be the franchise's first in 25 years. However, others agreed with the decision and felt Thibodeau mismanaged his bench and was too set it his ways.

As far as Hart is concerned, people should focus more on the success Thibodeau had with the Knicks than the areas in which he fell short. Hart took to X on Thursday with a message defending Thibodeau.

Hart lost his starting job during the Eastern Conference Finals, so it would be understandable if he felt some bitterness toward Thibodeau. His social media post suggests that is not the case.

Thibodeau coached the Knicks for five seasons and led them to the playoffs four times. New York won 50 or more games each of the last two years under Thibodeau. It also managed to knock off the defending-champion Boston Celtics in the playoffs this season.

Some unflattering reports have surfaced about Thibodeau in recent days, and it is fair to wonder if the team leaked them in order to justify parting ways with a successful coach. If the rumors are part of some sort of smear campaign, Hart does not want any involvement in it.
