In a crucial race that could turn around his season, Shane van Gisbergen will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag in Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Van Gisbergen's lap of 92.776 seconds was enough to top the charts as weather rolled in and ended the qualifying session early. If wet weather presents itself on Sunday, NASCAR does have rain tires available.
