J.J. Spaun's dramatic triumph at the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club was a life-changing win for a number of reasons.
The victory vaulted him to sixth in the FedEx Cup standings and eighth in the Official World Golf Ranking, granted him exemptions to all four major championships for the next five years and added $4.3M to his bank account.
Another perk that comes along with Spaun's first major is the possible chance to represent Team USA at the 2025 Ryder Cup. The California native was a potential target for team captain Keegan Bradley heading into the week, but now, he might make it as an automatic qualifier.
Spaun jumped up to third place in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings with his win at Oakmont. Considering the top six players in the standings on Aug. 17 automatically qualify for the Ryder Cup, Spaun is in a great position to make the team.
With the recent shakeup at the top of the standings, it's the perfect time to predict what Team USA might look like in September.

First, let's take a look at the six automatic qualifiers if the team were chosen today:
Scottie Scheffler (already qualified)
Xander Schauffele
J.J. Spaun
Bryson DeChambeau
Justin Thomas
Collin Morikawa
It's safe to assume those six players will be representing the Red, White and Blue at Bethpage Black in the fall. The rest of the squad is a bit precarious. Here are our predictions for the six captain's picks if the season ended today:
Sam Burns: Burns is playing his best golf of the season. He nearly won the U.S. Open to notch his sixth top-20 finish in his last seven starts. He's also best friends with Scheffler and has experience playing with the World No. 1 in team events.
Patrick Cantlay: Bradley would be foolish to leave Cantlay off the U.S. team. He boasts a 5-2-1 record in the Ryder Cup and a 10-4-0 record in the Presidents Cup in his career.
Jordan Spieth: If Bradley favors experience over anything else, Spieth is another easy choice. The Texan is also playing great golf this season with eight top-25 finishes thanks to his strong tee-to-green play.
Russell Henley: Henley is just outside the cut line at seventh in the current U.S. Ryder Cup standings, but he'd be a fine choice as a captain's pick. He's a great iron player and putter, which are crucial strengths to have in match play.
Ben Griffin: It's getting tougher to deny Griffin's credentials as a Ryder Cup hopeful. The 29-year-old has two wins since April 27 and has recorded four straight top-10 finishes, gaining strokes in all four major categories in those four starts.
Cameron Young: Team USA could use a bomber to tame Bethpage, and Young has been driving it exceptionally well over the last month. If he keeps up this level of play, he'll have a great argument to be on the team.
