Michigan DL 'machine' helps school land four-star Titan Davis over Alabama

Titan Davis is one of the top defensive linemen in the 2026 class and the Michigan Wolverines have been after his commitment for quite some time.

Michigan offered Davis back during his sophomore year in high school. He took an official visit to Ann Arbor this past weekend and that's what finally sealed the deal for Sherrone Moore and his staff.

Davis, ranked as the No. 13 defensive lineman in the 2026 class, committed to the Wolverines on Monday evening.

This is a big commitment for the Wolverines considering Davis' rankings, but also the competition. The Alabama Crimson Tide were also majorly in the running for him, but Michigan's history of producing elite defensive linemen likely sealed the deal for them.

"I was always interested in Michigan because of the D-Line that they've got," Davis told Michigan insider Sam Webb of 247Sports. "They're known for producing. They've been producing D-line for quite some time now. So, the machine here at Michigan is always going to be a machine at Michigan, and everybody knows that. So, it's just I think I really had an eye for Michigan already. I knew that was a big D-line school."

The proof is in the pudding for the Wolverines. Defensive tackle Mason Graham was just selected No. 5 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson went No. 2 overall in 2022 to the Detroit Lions and he's a rising star in the league. Rashan Gary went No. 12 overall to the Green Bay Packers in 2019.

The Wolverines have a great record on the defensive line, but in general, Davis felt the Michigan brand spoke for itself on the recruiting trail.

"What I like the most about Michigan right now is probably how the program is still the program even with coaches changing and stuff like that," he said. "Like, Michigan is always going to be Michigan. I think that's a big piece of me liking this place."

USC and Penn State were also in the running for Davis but they ultimately didn't get official visits. Other notable offers for the four-star include Georgia, Texas, Florida State, Miami and Oregon among others.
