Tre Johnson's draft outfit had analyst comparing him to famous guitarist

Texas Longhorns guard Tre Johnson has, perhaps, the smoothest jump shot in the 2025 class. His sense of style, well, some may not find it so smooth.

Johnson, 19, wore a navy suit jacket over matching knee-length tailored shorts to the NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in New York on Wednesday night. ESPN analyst Jay Bilas wasn't feeling Johnson's outfit.

"Look at that suit. ... Up top he looks like a banker," Bilas said (h/t On3's Daniel Hager). "Down low, he's like a guitarist for AC/DC."

Bilas was likely referring to AC/DC guitarist Angus Young, known for wearing shorts with a suit jacket on stage.

Johnson's style may not be for everyone, but his game could be. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard seems ideal for the modern NBA, which values elite three-point shooters.

In 33 games with the Texas Longhorns during the 2024-25 season, Johnson tied for fourth in the SEC in three-pointers made (2.7) and finished first in points scored (19.9).

In his scouting report before the draft, Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports compared him to former Boston Celtics star Ray Allen, who is third in NBA history in three-pointers made (2,973) in a career.

"Johnson hit countless clutch shots as a Texas freshman, showing confidence in difficult moments, and his teammates seemed to rally around him," wrote O'Connor.

The Washington Wizards took Johnson with pick No. 6 in the draft. He should improve their offense. During the 2024-25 season, the Wizards scored the league's fourth-fewest points (108 PPG) and had the second-worst three-point percentage (33.5%).

As long as he keeps getting buckets in Washington, who cares if his outfits make him look like someone who may play an excellent rendition of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck."
