The Indiana Fever got an important win on the road over the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night.
What made the 94-86 win even more impressive for the Fever is that they just got six points from Caitlin Clark, who shot 0-for-6 from three-point range.
It was the first time this season that Clark had been held to single digits. Aliyah Boston, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA draft, picked up the slack with 31 points on 13-of-18 shooting. She also added eight rebounds and three assists.
Kelsey Mitchell was spectacular, too. She made five three-pointers and scored 26 points as Indiana improved to 7-7.
Yet, it's hard to ignore that Clark is in the midst of the worst shooting slump of her career, whether in the WNBA or with Iowa.
Over the past three games, Clark is just 1-of-23 on three-point attempts. She's failed to make a three-point field goal in two of her past three games.
Before this season, Clark had never had a WNBA game without making a triple. It only happened once in her 139-game career with the Iowa Hawkeyes, but it's happened twice in three games. Tuesday was the third time it's happened in the 2025 season.
To add even more context, this three-game stretch is the first time Clark has gone multiple games without making multiple three-pointers in a game for the first time since 2022.
Only three times in her entire career (Iowa or WNBA) has Clark had back-to-back games without multiple treys. She had a four-game stretch in 2022 where she didn't make more than one in a game (3-of-24 total).
So it's happened before, but it's still shocking to see Clark, the best shooter in women's basketball, make 4.3 percent of her perimeter shots over a three-game stretch.
History suggests it will be an anomaly.
At Iowa, after that four-game stretch mentioned, Clark made 20 treys in her next five games. That's the kind of response WNBA fans should expect from the Fever superstar.
However, something has been off. Maybe it's related to the injury that caused her to miss five games, although Clark canned seven threes in her first game back against New York.
Either way, the past three games have encompassed the worst shooting stretch of Clark's career. We'll see if it continues on Thursday night at home against the Los Angeles Sparks.
