Shohei Ohtani homered yet again for his Los Angeles Dodgers, and he had some fun with a teammate after going deep.
Ohtani was batting in the top of the seventh inning of his Dodgers’ game against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver, Colo., on Thursday. He was up with the bases empty, two outs and he had a 2-2 count against Tyler Kinley. Kinley threw a breaking ball over the middle that Ohtani blasted out to deep right center field. The ball sailed over the fence and into the visitors’ bullpen. Dodgers relief pitcher Kirby Yates caught the homer. That led to a nice exchange between him and Ohtani.

Yes, Ohtani waved at Yates for catching his home run. That was Ohtani’s 28th dinger of the season, which tied him with Aaron Judge for second in MLB behind Cal Raleigh, who has 32.
Ohtani’s exit velocity on the home run was tracked at 107.8 mph, and the ball was estimated to have traveled 419 feet. Yates came in to pitch the bottom of the 7th and threw a scoreless inning, allowing one walk while striking out one.
