James played in 27 regular season games with the Lakers during the season that just finished. He averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 6.7 minutes per game. He also played in 11 games with the South Bay Lakers of the G League. He averaged 21.9 points per game on 44 percent shooting, plus 5.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
James was a second-round pick by the Lakers last year and played in six summer league games. He began his summer league career with shaky performances before getting his shooting on track. He scored 25 points on 10/21 shooting over his final two summer league games last year.
The Lakers are hoping that another year playing in the summer league will help James develop as a player.
