Novak Djokovic discusses potentially setting Grand Slam record at 2025 Wimbledon

Before Novak Djokovic kicks off his pursuit of a record 25th tennis Grand Slam on Tuesday at 2025 Wimbledon, the 24-time major champion knows what type of opportunity lies in front of him.

Djokovic set the men's major record at 23 in 2023 and tied Court with a win at the 2023 U.S. Open.

Djokovic, who most recently reached the semifinals at the 2025 French Open, noted his strong history at the All England Club has influenced his mindset entering this year's event.

"Just getting that extra push mentally and motivation to perform the best tennis at the highest level," Djokovic added.

Per Tennis Abstract, Djokovic is 101-12 in 19 career appearances at Wimbledon, with seven wins (2011, 2014-15, 2018-19, 2021-22).

The past two seasons, Djokovic has lost in the finals to world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz, who is coming off a 2025 French Open title and shined in his grass court tune-up before Wimbledon, winning the HSBC Championships final on June 22.

Djokovic could meet Alcaraz in the final once again after the two were set on opposite sides of the gentleman's 2025 draw. He potentially must overcome world No. 1 Jannik Sinner to get there. In two previous Wimbledon meetings, Djokovic is 2-0, with a five-set win in 2022 followed by a straight-set victory in 2023.
