Jared Verse pulls 180 on his comments about Eagles fans

Jared Verse may have learned his lesson on speaking out against an opposing team’s fan base.

The Los Angeles Rams linebacker got some heat in January when he declared his hatred of Philadelphia Eagles fans and called them “so annoying.” Verse got a second chance to talk about Eagles fans during a recent interview on the “Whistle” YouTube channel.

When asked to name the “best opposing fan base,” Verse took the opportunity to heap praise on the Philly fan base he once disparaged.

“Probably the Eagles,” Verse answered. “I’ve got to give them that. I like when you kind of get into it, you’re aggressive, you’re loud, and they stand by that with no doubt.”

“Playing the Eagles is like playing your rival in college because you never know what they’re going to say, and they’re going to try to say disrespectful stuff. They’re going to bring something up. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not going to say anything where it’s like, ‘Bro, you crossed a line,’ but they’re going to say something where you’re like, ‘Hey, who you talking to?'”

Philadelphia sports fans have a polarizing reputation for being among the most intense in the United States. Some see the trait as a positive, while others feel like Philly fans cross the line at times.

Verse seemed to belong to the latter camp when he talked about the Eagles’ fan base last season. But he seems to have had a change of heart.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley may have gotten through to Verse. Earlier this year, the 2024 MVP finalist warned Verse about the risk of angering an opposing fan base.
