Caitlin Clark has quickly become one of the most popular players in WNBA history, and the league’s latest All-Star voting is yet another reminder of the impact she has had since she was drafted out of Iowa last year.
The WNBA announced on Sunday that Clark and Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier have been named the two captains for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, as they finished first and second, respectively, in voting. Clark received 1,293,526 votes and Collier got 1,176,020.
Dan Zaksheske of Outkick compared those numbers with the WNBA All-Star voting results from two years ago, before Clark was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever. What the results show is that Collier received more votes this year than the top 30 players got combined in 2023.
Perfect example of how Caitlin Clark raises the profile of the entire WNBA. Napheesa Collier, who finished 2nd in All-Star fan voting to Clark, got 1.17M votes.

The correlation between Clark being in the WNBA and hundreds of thousands more fans voting is a strong one. Angel Reese probably feels she deserves credit as well, and her rivalry with Clark certainly has helped boost the WNBA’s popularity. There are more people who want to watch Clark, however, as evidenced by the All-Star voting and some recent ticket prices.
Clark is perhaps the best thing that has ever happened to the WNBA. The league has to be thrilled with the number of people who took the time to cast All-Star votes.
