Caris LeVert played for the Michigan Wolverines from 2012-16. He was an All-Big Ten player who averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists in his senior season for the Wolverines. He was selected No. 20 in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers but his rights were later traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
He's played on four teams in his NBA career and has been a solid role player. And now, the Detroit Pistons are bringing him back "home" to Michigan.
It's being reported by Shams Charania that the Pistons and LeVert have agreed on a two-year, $29M deal in free agency.

The Pistons are looking for backcourt depth behind Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey and, as a young team, they can use all the veteran experience they can get.
That was one of the keys to their incredible turnaround this past season, but several pieces from that team aren't expected to be back in 2025. Tim Hardaway Jr., a former teammate of LeVert's, is a free agent and may not be re-signed and Dennis Schroder has signed with the Sacramento Kings.
Malik Beasley is a free agent who the Pistons likely have wanted to bring back, but his future is now unclear as it's being reported that he's being investigated for gambling allegations related to NBA games.
With so much changing on the Pistons' bench, it does seem like a smart move to lock down a veteran who averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game last season on 46.7% shooting from the field.
