Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said he is trying to improve what he sees as his biggest shortcoming.
In an appearance on Kevin Hart’s “Cold As Balls” podcast, Jackson admitted he is putting in an effort to become a more vocal leader with his teammates. He suggested that his previous stance on leading by example has not been enough in his role as a star quarterback.
“I’m really not outspoken, like being vocal with my guys,” Jackson said. “(I don’t) have a great motivational speech. I pretty much lead by example. I go out there, I’m going to work hard, I expect that out of you. As I’ve been growing in the league, it’s like, nah, you got to talk to the guys. Certain things I’m seeing, I’ve got to voice my opinion more to the guys.”
Jackson is coming off another near-MVP campaign, with 5,087 total yards and 45 touchdowns for the Ravens in 2024. However, the team fell short in the playoffs again, and Jackson was left feeling very frustrated by that failure.
Jackson has definitely been willing to publicly push his team to make certain moves. Being able to command even more respect from his team could push him even closer to the Super Bowl he covets.
