The Indiana Fever overcame long odds to beat the Minnesota Lynx and win the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday night, and it looks like they celebrated accordingly.

The Fever were 10.5-point underdogs entering their game against the Lynx at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. That was largely because Indiana did not have Caitlin Clark, who sat out with a groin injury.

Even without Clark, the Fever dominated the Lynx 74-59 and won the Commissioner’s Cup, which is the WNBA’s in-season tournament. Cunningham was one of the players who stepped up in Clark’s absence, contributing 13 points and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.

After the game, Cunningham shared a great photo from the Fever’s locker room celebration. Clark, who took a back seat in the game, was appropriately in the background.

Cunningham was traded to the Fever earlier this year, and she has quickly become a fan favorite in Indiana. She gained much of her popularity because of the way she defended Clark during a game last month. Cunningham has also been happy to take on a heel role in the WNBA, as evidenced by her recent comments about the league expanding.

The Fever improved to 8-8 on the season with the win. Minnesota is now 14-2 and still has by far the best record in the WNBA, so Indiana sent a message by cruising to a win over the Lynx without Clark.
