The Milwaukee Bucks stunned the NBA world on the first full day of free agency by not only swiping center Myles Turner from the Indiana Pacers but also waiving guard Damian Lillard.

Lillard averaged 24.9 points and 7.1 assists-per-game in 58 contests at 34 years old in 2024-25, but missed time due to a blood clot issue in the regular season before tearing his achilles in the postseason. The moves come as the Bucks try to retool a squad around Giannis Antetokounmpo that hasn’t made it past the second round of the playoffs since winning the NBA Finals in 2021 and has three-straight first round exits. Despite the fact that Lillard will likely miss the entire 2025-26 NBA season, his impressive resume already has teams inquiring about his services.
