Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw already has plenty of feathers in his cap, but this week he added another by becoming the 20th player in MLB history to join the 3,000-strikeout club.
It took every one of Kershaw’s 100 pitches in five innings against the Chicago White Sox for him to reach that mark as he painted the black to strike out Vinny Capra. Even after the historic accomplishment, Kershaw was critical of his outing.
“I made it interesting for sure,” he said after what became a walk-off win.
“I made it take too long. Honestly, I didn’t pitch that great tonight. My slider was so bad, but this was such a special night all-around.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Kershaw is one of just three active MLB pitchers to reach the 3,000-K milestone. With that being said, can you name the MLB pitchers with the most career strikeouts in the Live-Ball Era (since 1920)?
Good luck!
