Kevin Durant headlining record NBA trade

The trade that is sending Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets has turned out to be much bigger than originally anticipated.

The trade of Durant to Houston will involve seven NBA teams in total, which is a record. The teams involved in the deal include the: Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns.

Durant going to the Rockets is the centerpiece of the deal, with Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green going back to Phoenix in return completes things. Most of the rest of the trade is of a minor variety in relation to KD being traded. According to Jake Fisher, the trade has been agreed to in principle.

Atlanta Hawks receive:

  • 2021 second-round pick (from HOU)
  • Cash considerations (from HOU)
  • Traded player exception for Clint Capela

Brooklyn Nets receive:

  • 2026 second-round pick (from HOU)
  • 2030 second-round pick (from HOU)

Golden State Warriors receive:

  • Rights to Alex Tooley (from PHX)
  • Rights to Jahmai Mashack (from HOU)

Houston Rockets receive:

  • Kevin Durant ($54,708,609) (from PHX)
  • Clint Capela ($6,825,397) (sign-and-trade from ATL)

Los Angeles Lakers receive:

  • Rights to Adou Thiero (from BKN)

Minnesota Timberwolves receive:

  • Rights to Rocco Zikarsky (from LAL)
  • 2026 second-round pick (from PHX)
  • 2032 second-round pick (from PHX)
  • Cash considerations (from LAL)
  • Traded player exception for Nickeil Alexander-Walker (half of starting salary)

Phoenix Suns receive:

  • Jalen Green ($33,584,499) (from HOU)
  • Dillon Brooks ($21,124,110) (from HOU)
  • Rights to Khaman Maluach (from HOU)
  • Rights to Rasheer Fleming (from MIN)
  • Rights to Koby Brea (from GSW)
  • 2026 second-round pick (from HOU)
  • 2032 second-round pick (from HOU)
